Assistant Professor, Experimental High-Energy Particle Physics

Position Description: 

The Department of Physics at Yale University (http://physics.yale.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Experimental High Energy Physics. Applications that are complete by December 1, 2024, will receive full consideration.

We encourage applicants conducting research in all areas of experimental high energy physics, with a preference for candidates who will strengthen and/or complement the existing collider-based efforts at Yale. The department participates in the ATLAS collaboration, as well as other smaller experiments, and Yale University is also making significant investments in data science, artificial intelligence, and instrumentation development. We welcome candidates whose work intersects with these fields.

The successful candidate is expected to:
Initiate a vibrant research program.
Be an engaged member of the Physics Department.
Excel in teaching physics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.

The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2025.

Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
Demonstrated potential for establishing a strong research program in experimental high energy physics.
A commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship.

A list of 3-5 of the candidate's most significant publications, annotated with a description of their
contributions. Copies of the papers are not required.
