Event description:
“A new inference technique with applications to Higgs Effective Field Theory”
Our field doesn’t have a good technique for measuring parameters of a theory
when one needs to incorporate a complicated detector response
(encoded in a detector simulation) and wants to take advantage of the
information of a high-dimensional observation. I will outline a novel “likelihood-free”
inference technique that addresses this problem. As an example, I’ll discuss
applications of this technique for Higgs Effective Field Theory.
