Event description:
I will present an overview of the most recent observations of planet forming disks obtained with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. These observations reveal structures in the distribution of the circumstellar gas and dust that can be interpreted as the result of the gravitational interaction between the circumstellar material and planetary size companions. I will discuss how these features probe the mass and orbital radius of newborn planets, and what are the implications for planet formation models.
