Chiara Mingarelli, assistant professor of physics, recently wrote an op-ed piece entitled “Scientific writing in the age of AI” for Nature Astronomy as part of her Public Voices Fellowship hosted by the Women Faculty Forum.
Mingarelli commented about the genesis of the story, “Briefly, I let ChatGPT write a conference summary based on transcripts of our conversations. It was a disaster. Here I explore what AI gets wrong about scientific writing, and why human authorship still matters.”
