On May 2, the Yale College class of 2024 was invited to dinner at the home of Karsten Heeger, Eugene Higgins Professor and chair of physics and director of Yale Wright Laboratory; and Reina Maruyama, professor of physics. Along with the graduating students, additional Yale Physics faculty attended, including Adriane Steinecker, senior lecturer in physics; Chiara Mingarelli, assistant professor of physics; Nick Read, Henry Ford II Professor of Physics; Steve Lamoreaux, professor of physics; and R. Shankar, J.W. Gibbs Professor of Physics.
Mingarelli said, “The dinner with the seniors was a wonderful experience. I met bright and inquisitive seniors who I did not previously know, and also had more informal conversations with colleagues in a beautiful setting. There was a serene atmosphere, and everyone had big smiles on their faces.”
Mingarelli continued, “Thank you to everyone who helped me make this happen, and I’m looking forward to next year’s dinner already.”
