Exploring High-Mass Dark Matter Axions: Future Plans at Stockholm University

The axion, a hypothetical particle proposed to solve the strong CP problem, is a compelling candidate for dark matter. Recent advances from various theoretical groups increasingly point toward higher-mass axions as viable dark matter candidates. However, exploring this mass range presents significant experimental challenges, as the smaller Compton wavelength results in reduced detection volumes. To address these challenges, innovative experimental strategies have been developed, with the plasma haloscope standing out as a promising approach. This technique leverages wire metamaterials to enhance detection sensitivity. ALPHA, an international collaboration dedicated to plasma haloscope, includes Stockholm University as a key member. In this talk, I will discuss experimental methods for high-mass axion searches and present future plans at Stockholm University to advance this exciting frontier.
